How to terminate/pay off Orange contract.

All,

What would be the best way to pay off my current orange contract?
It has 3 or 4 months left to run, but I want to move to O2 for the free N95-2.

Do i ring up orange, speak to customer services and ask to be moved to the lowest tariff possible, (£20pm currently i think), hang up, ring again and ask for disconnections?

I suspect that if i do this all in one call, orange will catch on and tell me I cant lower my tariff just for the purpose of paying off the contract.

Any advice?

Why don't ring up and tell them your looking to move to O2 when your contract ends for a free N95-2, but you'll happily stay with Orange if they can give you a new phone now. If it were me, I'd try the above and if not I'd wait 3-4 months and then terminate and when you get put through to retentions tell them exactly why and try and get a better tariff with a new phone.

As they say in this part of the world, 'Shy bairns get nee sweets'!

Because:
a) orange don't have the N95 black.
b) orange's data packages are crap
c) hardly any orange reception at my new house.

A bit of a no go if you want to keep your number.

Just phone up and say that you have been given a work phone and no longer wish to terminate your contract. Ask if they can provide you lower tariff rate for paying off your contact.
