Dead N95

Hi all

I had a problem with the phone, voices in earpiece going quiet, and turning itself off. So i put it into my local vodafone shop for repair. One week later the phone arrived back, after a couple of days i noticed the slider didn't meet at one side and the rear cover was not correctly lined up and the same problem was still there with the sound. Back to the same shop it went and off for repair again. It arrived back today with the case in a worse condition and i was told it was unrepairable as the circuit board was cracked, this was not mentioned on the first repair, and now they say the case was not opened on the first repair (mis aligned case tells me it was opened), so now i am stuck with 9 months left on my contract while the repair centre investigate what has happened. Where can i go with this, to buy my contract out they want £243, so this seams a bad option

Re: Dead N95

Is it under warranty still? Surely if it can't be repaired then a replacement should be given to you

Re: Dead N95

they say it is not covered because the circuit board has been bent by mis use, yet this was not the case the first time it went back, i think it has been damaged in transit or at the repair centre

Re: Dead N95

Going to be impossible to prove either way to be honest. The handset would be packed in a padded bg to and from voda's repair center so transit damage would have to have been caused at the store or repair center end. If the first problem was with the earpiece then the back case cover would not have been removed so theyre essentially telling the truth.

Re: Dead N95

This is the problem, but at the moment the phone will still work but they sent it back with the back half on half off, the side buttons are not touching anything, its a bit of a mess

Re: Dead N95

I bought a refurbished Nokia 6233 that stopped charging after 6 months ( 2 weeks ago), i changed the port etc and thought it was dead and would be costly to repar. Lo and behold i took it to CPW where it had 6 months warranty left, they couldnt repair and the Nokia Service Centre did - worth a punt.
