couple of N95 Q's

Just got one (free) on a decent tariff from Orange. I've read a fair bit of the main thread on them but I can't see answers to some Q's:

1. It's slow, firmware update will help (ditto re battery life), but invalidate warranty, yes?
2. MP3's are hissy, can anything be done?
3. Radio doesn't get all the stations I think it should (including R4 which is what I listen to mostly), can anything be done?

TIA

1. It canbe updated and it would invalidate the warranty if you updated to a version which Orange has not released.
2. Might be fixed by an update!
3. Ditto

Re: couple of N95 Q's

1) it will apparently invalidate the warranty, but that's dependant on someone at orange noticing, which would have to mean that they would have to be competent at their job, which would mean you'll be fine

a nokia service center shouldn't care if you've updated the firmware though, so you've got that option

2) mp3's aren't hissy on mine, I've got v20 and a nice pair of Shure earphones. Turn the volume up if they're hissing

3) The radio aerial is rubbish. I've found that streaming the radio off the net is the only way to be guaranteed decent radio (and effectively any radio in the world) so that's why I'm no longer on orange, and on T-Mobile's unlimited internet package

My MP3's are hissy, also a few pops and crackles, sounds like listening to an LP!
