N95 needing repair, but has v20 software (o2)

The vibrate function on my n95 (NOT 8gig) has decided to stop working.
I took it into o2 today who checked it and said it will need sending away for hardware repair.
Im happy to do this, but, o2 software atm is onle v13 i think and I upgraded my software to v20 before christmas.

Will this invaliate the warranty?, will they fix it and charge me?, will they care?, will o2 fix it or Nokia?

Ta in advance?

BTW anyone else n95 vibrate packed in?

Yes this will this invaliate the warranty, and there is no way to downgrade the firmware.

Just make sure that you have changed back to the O2 product code from the euro one and the phone is still O2 branded and hope they will repair it

I've had phones repaired twice by the Nokia care centre that have had later firmware than the product code would suggest is available.

Just download the form from "Step 2" here http://www.nokia.co.uk/repair

and post off to the freepost address. Turnaround is usually 3-4 days so generally faster than O2 anyway

Change your product code back to correct one first though.

The easiest way to check the Product Code in the phone is to use Nemesis Service Suite (NSS) and just Read the code. Check it's the same as the one on the label on the back under the battery.

It's very unlikely that a Nokia Service Centre will care about the firmware Variant or Product Code. O2 might, but shouldn't for a mechanical fault unless they want to exchange yours with a refurb unit; in this case thay won't like having a unit with upgraded firmware to refurb for someone else.

Have you tried doing a full phone format (*#7370#) without the memory card in just to make sure it is a hardware fault?

Don't forget that this will wipe everything on your phone.

Or take it to your nearest CPW repair centre... they will do it too, doesn't matter where you bought it as long as it's under Nokia warranty.
