phone battery life?

I,m looking to upgrade my old phone to a new model with good batt life. I use bluetooth from my car hands free and text a lot which drains my batt very quickly. I would like a phone that has a good camera and maybe video facility. I,ve been looking at the new sony eriksson k800i with 3.2 mp camera but it as no video. It says it has 350hrs standby life. Looking to spend around £70. Any advice please?

Mate, this phone does have a video recorder, for the amount of money you want to spend, this is a top notch phone.

Re: phone battery life?

In regards to bluetooth, unless theres an active data transfer going on, the effect on battery life is neglegable

Re: phone battery life?

The Sony Ericsson K800i is a great phone, and its not new. It does have video capability and is quite good at it too. As for battery life, my girlfriend had one and she was getting about 2 full days out of a full charge. She and I are extreme heavy texters (50 - 100 a day) and she's a heavy caller. So I dont think you need to worry about battery life on this phone, its a peach

Not true - it depends on how the connection to a car kit works. The BT kit in my car includes a signal strength display, and this involves a regular communication between the phone and the BT kit. This does present a noticeable battery drain on the phone.

Which would indicate that there IS an active data transfer going on! So as Phannon666 originally stated, the effect of leaving bluetooth on, without an active data connection is infact a negligible drain on battery, so his statement remains true

Fair enough - but a lot of car kits / headsets don't keep up a constant data connection; one end wakes the other as needed. It's worth remembering that there are both types out there - and one does drain your battery!

Re: phone battery life?

Thanks guys. My car stereo enables bluetooth on switch on. It then signals my mobile which then requests connection. I pair my mobile with the car stereo and then i,m hands free. The car stereo has a telephone button to answer and microphone. All conversation comes through the car speaker system.
So next question is do I take the £10 most generously offered as trade-in for my fully boxed Motorola L6 from carphone warehouse, or do I sell it privately? Is it worth more than an Ayrton Senna?
