Hi, all.

I recently bought a second hand SPV M3100 and I'm having trouble setting it up to send and receive MMSs.

I've been to the Orange website which has a very handy guide to setting it up:

Setting up the data account

1.On the PDA, tap on Start and then Settings.
2.Tap on the Connections tab.
3.Tap on the Connections icon.
4.Tap on the Advanced tab.
5.Tap on Select Networks.
6.Tap on New…
7.In the Enter a name for these settings: field, enter Orange MMS
8.Tap on the Modem tab.
9.Tap on New.
10.In the Enter a name for the connection: field, enter Orange MMS
Tap on the Select a modem: drop down list and select Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G).
11.Tap on Next.
12.In the Access point name: field, enter orangemms and tap on Next.
13.In the Username: field, enter Orange
14.In the Password field, enter Multimedia
15.Tap on Finish.
16.Tap on ok three times.
17.Tap on x to close the settings.

Setting up the MMS account

1.On the PDA, tap on Start and then Messaging.
2.Tap on Menu and select Tools then tap Options...
3.Tap on MMS.
4.Tap on the Servers tab
5.Tap on New.
6.In the Server name: field, enter Orange MMS
7.In the Gateway: field, enter 192.168.224.010
8.In the Port number: field, enter 8080
9.In the Server address: field, enter http://mms.orange.co.uk/
10.Tap on the Connect via: drop down list and select Orange MMS
11.Tap on the WAP Version: drop down list and select WAP 2.0.
12.Tap on Ok.
13.Tap on Orange MMS and tap on Set As Default.
14.Tap on ok twice.
15.Tap on x to close.

The handset is now configured for Multimedia Messages.

Problem is, at Step 3 on the 'Setting up the MMS Account' section, I don't have an 'MMS' to tap on. I simply have 'Text Messages' and 'New Account'. When I select 'New account' it starts the e-mail setup process (which I'll be doing next!).

Any suggestions?

Does anyone know the answer to this as I have the same problem with my XDA Orbit. There is no MMS option, just text and outlook.

I haven't got it sorted yet as I've been a bit busy, however when I looked around a few forums it was suggested that we needed to flash the phone with a newer ROM which should correct the problem.

Of course, doing this means that you'll lose all of your messages and settings, so you'll have to make sure you have all this info in advance.

There was some mention of an application called Olipro Hard SPL v7 which apparently stops you knackering your phone when you're flashing it.

That's about as far as I've got. Seems like a fair amount of work, hence I haven't got round to it yet!

I have an XDA Orbit flashed with WM6 and the MMS settings were already setup.

gr1340, what version ROM do you have?

By the way I am also an ex owner of a M3100 (yes I do love my PDA phones! ) but did not need MMS settings so never checked.

I have attached a cab file containing the mms settings for Orange UK. Hope the file attached ok as .cab is not listed as a valid file extension. Give it a try, not my work by the way...credit goes to xda-developers.com.

nc555 - I tried that file (even though I am on T-Mobile) but it hasn't made any difference. I can see the orange settings under connections but the actual MMS option (Messaging,Menu,Tools,Options,MMS) is not there, just text messaging and outlook.
My rom version is Black&Blue v5.0 WWE. I know nothing about it, it was installed when I got it (on Tuesday)

I have fixed it. I found the thread on a forum from the person that created the rom. MMS was not included but I have found it now.

Install this and MMS is available
