Cancel Contract Upgrade.

Hi all..

Hopin someone can help as ive never done this before.

Have been a customer of Three for just over 11 months and my initial 12 month contract ends in 3 weeks, when I called them recently they offered me an upgrade but on an 18 month contract, I reluctantly accepted and went ahead.....

Now heres where I need advice, the new phone arrived today, great but ive changed my mind cause I really dont want to tie myself into an 18 month contract, so is it simple to sort this out with Three? I ask cause I want to Return the upgrade, give my 30 days notice to cancel and move to O2...

Is it simple to cancel once you have accepted an upgrade?

The phone they sent is unopened but there is no returns form in the package or information advising how to cancel so could anyone offer advice on the best way to approach them...

Cheers for all your help....

Thats what I would have thought but I cant find any information on Three's website regarding a "change of mind" type situation... Where returns are concerned they have this.

provided you have not used your handset, you can return your handset within 14 days of receipt. You'll also have to return the original boxed accessories and documentation ‘as new’.

The Returns policy doesn’t apply:
to existing customers who choose (where allowed by 3) to upgrade their mobile.

They dont make anything very clear on there site..lol...

Re: Cancel Contract Upgrade.

Like Vini said you should get the 7 days distance selling rule.

Whatever you do dont put your sim card in the upgrade phone. My friend recently did what you have done, put her sim card in the new handset, but didn't read the little letter enclosed that stated if a sim is placed in the handset the upgrade is accepted and cannot be returned.

You should be able to just call them up and ask to return it. They should either have a returns bag in the box or maybe send you one out?

I know you say it is un-opened, maybe open it up and see if there is a letter in there that might explain how to return it?
