Removing the horrible Orange sidebar thingy?

I have just upgraded my Sammy D900 to a SE W910i on Orange. The Sammy was the third one I had due to screens cracking and the last one came with the obligatory Orange software with the nasty shortcut sidebar on the main screen.

The W910i also has this but it seems even more obtrusive and annoying so I wondered if anyone knew of any way that it can be got rid of?

Re: Removing the horrible Orange sidebar thingy?

Easiest way that I know of is to debrand it. This takes the phone back to a retail state removing Orange's customisations.

You can usually find debranding services on eBay.

Or you can go into the following menu options and change it that way:

MENU >>>> SETTINGS (which will put you on the General Tab) SCROLL DOWN AND SELECT "HOMESCREEN" AND THEN SELECT "SONY ERICSSON"

Ta daa, no more crappy shortcut menu bar.

That is fantastic !!! There was no option like that ( as far as I know? ) on the Samsung so I just assumed there was no easy way on the SE either.
