Help please, number porting problem

Chaps need some advice please, about a month ago I left T-mobile (pay monthly) and moved to Orange (pay as you go) received my PAC and gave it to orange and the number transferred on the day stated...so far so good. But then I found out that some of my calls were not getting through to me and it appeared to only affect lanline line calls (to my mobile) but not all landlines and not all of the time (confused yet?). Any I tested it from my home phone and found that sometimes it would ring, other times it would ring on the landline end (but not the mobile) and sometimes I would get a message saying 'I don't have enough credit' and cut me off. Thinking that maybe it was a problem with my landline I asked other people to call and about 50% failed to connect to me (all from different STD codes). Oh ye also tried my sim card in another phone and received same problem. Spoke to Orange and finally got through to soemone that could help (4 calls!) and they said that they would investigate said would call back.....no call back received (surprise surprise) so called them to be told that it appeared there was a problem with the porting process and that everything is OK there end and that I would need to speak to T-mobile as it appeared to be a problem with there end. So spoke to T-mobile and they have told me....wait for it....that it is nothing to do with them and that I need to speak to orange

Please can anyone offer any suggestions on my next course of action, I really want to keep my existing number

Re: Help please, number porting problem

Thanks for the offer but just spoken to a very helpful person at Orange and apparently they have identified the problem and are going to work with T-mobile to resolve it. They say it is quite a common problem Hopefully all will be resolved in a couple of days....fingers crossed!

Re: Help please, number porting problem

I work for T-Mobile and i could check our end.

Not throwing digs but there's no way the problem can be at our end as all we do is release the number, if its even showed on orange at any point then the fault lies with Orange.

Re: Help please, number porting problem

You're probably right like. Someone in Numer Porting wont have finalised everything I bet.
Has happened a few times as I have found out when calling through to them to check on a Port In. Have gotten "Yeah, we have the number, it just hasn't been applied properly to the account".

Re: Help please, number porting problem

Thanks for all the offers of help, have spoken again to Orange (they called me back when they said they would!) and they have said that it is a problem their end and that they will fix in the next couple of days. Expecting a call back on Thursday checking progress, they did mention number porting so suspect this is where the problem lie.
