Arrow Games / Apps using the N95's Accelerometer

I thought it might be useful to start a thread for other who are interested about how the N95's Accelerometer can be used to its potential.

Now, the first freeware game has been released! The following is an extract from symbian-freak.com:


Accelerometer Invaders - Gaming with Nokia N95 using accelerometer!?

As you may have already know Nokia N95 features Accelerometer (also known as Level or Tilt Sensor). Mainly it is used by the camera in the phone to rotate pictures in the right position.

The good thing is that Nokia has released the necessary API and permission to use the accelerometer isn’t camera exclusive any more. This Space Invaders game clone uses the N95 Accelerometer Plug-in package to hook into the accelerometer and to detect movement in the orientation of the phone and translates this input to controlling the moving space ship in the game.

The accelerometer allows you to tilt your phone to control a ship on the screen as if it were in the phone itself although movem....

I'm looking forward to the release of Moknote. This app is being developed by the same guy who wrote the RotateMe app.

This app will allow full motion control of most of the phones functions MP3/Video playback. Gallery, Games.

Looks superb.

Yeah even though you know it's using the motion sensor i keep pressing left and right

Have you installed the light sabre app yet. Amused me for at least 40 seconds

Yeh I did... will be a good thing to show off to the fellow 30-somethings at Christmas, but like you say, the novelty dies off very quickly!!

I'm sure the developers will be coming out with better and better things soon though
