Iphone Version 2 ...

The Iphone version 2 which is out in March over in the states, ( I've got no idea what the exact specs will be ) however my question is to any insiders will this to also be on the O2 network it will it be open again to the highest bidder.

If I had O2 reception at home then I would get it however I can't buy the phone as there is no o2 reception and the phone cannot be unlocked to work with all the features T-Mobile currently give me,,

Thanks,,,,,,,

I don't know where you've heard that iPhone 2 will be out in the States in March, but it is a rumour and nothing more. It is very unlikely to be true - the iPhone will have been out in the US for less than a year by then, and Apple's product cycles are a lot longer than that. You might (and this is a guess, nothing more) see a 16GB iPhone some time in the first half of next year, but the iPhone 2 will be a lot further off than that.

Re: Iphone Version 2 ...

Oh, but allegedly O2 have a 5 year exclusive deal with Apple for iPhone, so whenever the iPhone replacement is launched, it will be on O2.

Ah that's the news I was looking for but not good news for me, unless o2 build a mobile phone mast near my house that gives me the reception that will make me happy enough to make the switch and get the iphone,

On a seperate matter Orange FR will be bringing out the Iphone unlocked due to competition rules, If I go down that option of buying the iPhone in France and bring it over here and put my T-Moby sim in it am I likely to get all the functions that o2 customers enjoy or am I likely to be missing out in some of the functions.

Thanks,

Brian.

You'll have to pay data charges and I suspect that visual voicemail is specific to the o2 iPhone contract.
