I currently have a uk iPhone and have it activated with an o2 contract. As much as I love the phone I don't think it is worth being tied to the contract so I am taking it back for a refund. The thing is I still want an iPhone, so should I buy an iPhone from USA unlocked on 1.1.1 software or wait to the uk iPhone becomes unlockable.

Any advice or pro's and con's for either

I got a US one last week and love it, I doubt there will be a firmware up date that will have something in it that you will want straight away so all you do is wait for the boffin's to jailbreak it, which will be a few days I'd expect

Save your money, we got conned enough in this country as it is

do all the features work apart from visual voicemail? If they do I'd get one from USA. Is the dialing the same as that on uk ones?

Everything is the same bar the above, when I dial home for instance it is 01248 xxxxxx but when I do it through the US iPhone its 012 48 xxxxxx

I am in the process of finding a workaround for this as I've read it is possible?

Any help appreciated
