scratched iphone screen.

Ive had the iphone for barely 15hours and i hav a small scratch on the 'unscratchable screen'.
I havent dropped it or anything...its mostly been sitting on my desk where Ive been trying out its features.
Any chance apple shop will do something about it (even tho i got it from carphonewarehouse)?

edit : i also noticed 1 small dead pixel near this scratch.

Re: scratched iphone screen.

Not a mark on mine and its been in my pocket for 3 weeks, been quite impressed with its resilience actually.

I doubt they will exchange it, surely marks on a screen are just part and parcel of owning a mobile?

Re: scratched iphone screen.

give it a go, but i think you'll be lucky..... unless you say it was scratched when you got it but they will probably want to know why you activated it.

Re: scratched iphone screen.

Just tell them it keeps crashing or switching off. Something random like that and they will have to swap it over.

Re: scratched iphone screen.

I've been very impressd with the resilience of the screen. I do have a scratch down by the button in the black aread btu that was caused by my young son testign his canine teath so i can't really complain. I was going to get a screen protector but based on a month and a half of hard use without any significant damage I don't think that I will bother.

Or not lie at all. I get just a bit p*ssed off when folks tell other folks to scam people/companies etc... I think it should be a bannable offence.

Just tell them about the problem or sell it as slightly scratched a get a new one.

Im all for being honest if it helps but sometimes it doesnt. I was just suggesting laying it on a bit thicker to get a replacement. Its not a scam as the phone is damaged and does have a stuck pixel. He paid good money for it and he should be happy with it.
Look, if he takes the phone back and they wont change it because he is being too fussy who looses out? Not them. If they change it who looses out, not them as they just send it back to Apple. And jugging by the way Ipods and mobile phones go it will start crashing anyway IMO.
Ive been laughed at in shops when i have tried to return something because it wasnt in 100% condition when i got it out of the box and the sales man is having a bad day. Why should i be at the mercy of someone with a hangover.

And why should he have to sell it at a loss.

Im sure CPW will change it anyway.

Re: scratched iphone screen.

Good News. i took the phone back and told them it had dead pixels (stuck pixels doesnt sound as serious). He then took a good 5 minutes locating these pixels. Then was happy to exchange it.
i didnt mention the small scratch but he obviously saw it.

All he did was take my sim out and put it in a new iphone (and destroy the other sim). Simple process. This new iphone seems perfect

Now i need a case to make sure it says perfect. Are there any cases out there that are not too big and covers the screen?

Re: scratched iphone screen.

Always buy form apple sotre, as you can take back if it has dead pixel, if you buy for anywhere else they are not legaly obliged to exchange for dead pixel as the item is not faulty, there are certain standards when it comes to dead pixels you have the check the manufacturers policy how many warrant and exchage..

Re: scratched iphone screen.

Carphone warehouse are selling 4 screen protectors for £5.

If applied properly you can't even tell they're on and it's still just as touch sensitive.

Are they the ones that are residue free ? Some screen protectors leave a nasty residue when they are peeled off. You have to be careful when buying them as a result.

Re: scratched iphone screen.

i returned my second iphone back to O2 (my mistake in the first post about being at carphonewarehouse).
and this 3rd phone has more dead pixels than the others. O2 said im only allow to return 2 phones and will be stuck with my 3rd phone unless i send the phones back to apple - which really dont want to go thru all that.

message of the day...ALL iphones hav dead pixels.
