Re: can i use a 3 contract sim in an unlocked phone?

Don't hold me to this, but as far as i am aware, as long as the phone you put the sim into is 3G, and you don't limit the phone to only 2G networks, you will be fine using a 3 USIM in a non 3 phone. It's only when you put the 3 USIM into a 2G phone, or limit the 3G phone to 2G that they find out you're using a non 3 phone (because you're making calls all the time on the 2G network in an area that should have 3G signal) and in a lot of cases have deactivated the USIM/account.

It's basically because 3 don't have their own 2G network and have to pay o2 (and i think also now Orange are in on this) to use theirs when their own 3G network fails/has no signal.
