Ipaq Battery not charging - Help please

Got a new battery for my Ipaq 2415. Put it in and it read 100% and worked with no problems. I put it in the sync/recharge cradle when it was at 80% and the recharge flashing orange light indicated it was charging. The battery, though, stayed at 80% even after an hour in the cradle. This went on till the battery showed 3%. I've just got another new battery and the same thing is happening - It's at 90% and will not charge above that. What am I doing wrong? It's a new compatible battery from "GPS for Less". I'm awaiting their answer to this question but wanted to ask the people who'd know.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
