iphone/O2/EDGE Settings

Two questions:

1. I noticed that I wasn't getting texts from automated web sites like yahoo. I receive texts sent from other mobiles but not automated ones - is this aproblem others have and is their a cure?

2. I have used anumber of settings for GPRS/EDGE. For what I understand to be the EDGE settings for O2 (web.o2.co.uk/faster/web) I get a messsage "Could not activate EDGE: You are not subscribed to EDGE" followed by "Safari can't open the page because it can't find the server". If I use what I presume are GPRS settings (moble.o2.co.uk/mobileweb/password) I can connect to sites but not the o2 Active homepage.

Are the settings right and if so are others having the same problems for EDGE and also not receiving texts from automated sites? Thanks for any advice.

Re: iphone/O2/EDGE Settings

Kieron - it works with your settings but it's slow and no better than with the mobile web and password settings with mobile.o2.co.uk.

Is EDGE actually active from O2 yet or is this only from 9 November?

Thanks again.

Re: iphone/O2/EDGE Settings

Depends if o2 have upgraded your cell towers, you can check at the o2 website for coverage. Where I live the Edge signal is extremely strong - works great for me.
