Should I switch from Orange?!?

I've been with Orange for years and haven't had that much of a problem apart from my bills always seem a little too much. I never go over my minute or text limit but I'm always paying more than the monthly rate should be. I've had an offer from Phones for U to buy me out of my contract, sign me up with T-mobile and give me K850i but I don't know what the other services are like. One friend told me that O2 were better but another argues that Vodafone are so I'm confused now! HELP!! Do you have an opinion based on experience you can share with me?

Re: Should I switch from Orange?!?

Hmmm. Tricky. I would check to see what the voverage is like in the area you live for the O2 services. This goes for all mobile providers cos no matter what they offer if you can't get a signal its not worth changing. I am with Orange presently but only cos last time I changed provider they were doing the best offers. I think that O2 usually do some great offers. If you are happy with your phone then take out a new contract and get an N95 or similar (an up to date mobile) which you can then sell on Ebay for £250. You should never pay for a new mobile phone when taking out a contract.

Lastly all the the providers will promise you heaven and earth so you will take out a contract with them and then forget about you. You will probably get stiched up with an 18 month contact. Play them at their own game and bleed them for everything you can. Last time I changed contract I got a free TOMTOM and cash back.

Re: Should I switch from Orange?!?

The question I would ask is if you are not going over your mins./text limit why are you paying more. Do you use a lot of data, if you do then Tmobile Web n Walk may be an option worth considering.
I would take a look at the respective suppliers websites and look at the various tariffs on offer, make sure you are armed with the facts of what you want in repect of mins/text/ data etc. and how much per month you wan to pay.
How long is left on your current contract, is there anyway you can lower your current monthly figure and pay it off yourself rather than Phones4U paying it off for you.
Whatever you do be very careful dealing with Phones4U, in my experience (although they may have improved) of dealing with them they would sell their own grandmother in an instant if it meant a sale, make sure you have everything in writing and double check everything before signing.

Re: Should I switch from Orange?!?

My bills have always been inexplicably higher when i've used Orange

Have tried all of them but Three and although the customer service is generally below average i find i prefer O2. coverage is always good for me as is the pricing (apart from poor data tariff's)
regular "treats" and quatlerly best tariff checks by O2 tend to keep my bills in check.

Re: Should I switch from Orange?!?

Have you properly checked your itemised bill for any unnecessary services/add ons?

I changed my contract with Orange a few months ago and the first bill of the revised contract still had some old packages on it - a phone call later they were refunded and it was corrected.

I reckon the same may have happened to you.
