Issue with my unlocked Iphone

Hi

This might sound a little strange but here we go.

A few weeks ago I bought an unlocked Iphone via ebay. It’s never been near itunes as my windows vista basic powered laptop is not up to it.

It’s been working fine then today I got a message on the screen to say that I have a voice mail. So I called O2 as I am currently using an o2 sim card and there are no new messages. Then when I looked at the handset it states that I have 124 new messages.

I have switched the handset on and off and there 124 next to the phone logo has gone. My question is has anyone else had this?

Re: Issue with my unlocked Iphone

New one to me...

However,

To set the red dot ( you don't get qty notification ) on O2 it's this key combo :

901 * 4 (mailbox settings), 1 (change notification), 3 (voicemail handset icon)

so that's : 901*413

This gives you notification that you have a message (a red dot on screen for voicemail)

Hi

I am still getting this however the number next to the phone logo is 174. This happens every few days.

Yesterday I also had a text from 2L when I opened it there was "@" in the text and the date of the message being sent was sometime in November 1969 anyone got any ideas?

RE the last part, I think this has to do with the iphone not being able to receive messages from numbers not in the regular format, such as texts from o2 and various premium services. I got one dated similarly when i first inserted my sim
