Should I get insurance for N95 on three network? other questions.

Hello.
I just bought a Nokia N95 on three (18 months contract) and the sales person recommended that I get insurance on the phone. I declined.
Should I get insurance (as I think I have 7 or 14 days to decide)?
I thought the phone was covered for standard 12 months warranty, as with all products within the UK.

I got 500 minutes + 120 video minutes + free internet access (Faire usage policy ) for £28. Is it a good deal?

What is the maximum data card that the phone accepts and which larger sized battery is acceptable to buy as a replacement from ebay?

Should I de-network (or whatever it is called) the phone, so that I could update it with the latest firmware.

Finally, with the internet access, does anyone have any idea of what is fair usage, meaning how much can I access (data download)?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You.

The insurance (should) cover you for theft - which won't be covered in the warranty. Most decent ones cover for accidental damage (though not always water damage) so if you drop it you can get a new one. Check the T&C though as they're not always that clear.

If, for example, you don't get insurance, take the phone down the pub and someone else has it away you either have to pay up the rest of the contract (ie £504 if your calculations are correct) and not use the phone, or have to buy a new phone (don't know how much PAYG N95s are but can't believe they're less than £300) to use on your contract. And that's assuming the person who nicked it isn't busy phoning their mates in Australia on your bill (which you'd have to pay for).

Personally, I check the T&C carefully, and if the insurance is any good I take it for 6 months. After that I think it's better to cancel (phone isn't as desirable any more, less line rental to pay up). But that's my personal choice...
