Getting rid of the N95 and going back to basics...

I made the decision last night that i am going to get shot of my N95. With the money i should get for it on eBay, i plan to buy the following - a 30gig iPod, a TomTom One and a Nokia 2610 (all new).

I have never really been that impressed with the N95, at least not with Symbian - there is practically no decent software available. I only really wanted it for calls, sat nav and the occasional MP3/podcast and I have been constantly unimpressed with the "jack of all trades, master of none" i find it to be. Web browsing, while better than any other none-touchscreen phone i have used, is still painfully frustrating to the point where i would only use it in 'emergencies', and mobile Gmail works on the 2610, so thats that covered.

It's nice to have and all-in-one device, but i am no longer prepared to put up with the big compromises digital convergence forces on us. Maybe i will try again in a couple of years (and i always have my trusty MDA to fall back on).

So, before i run away to pimp her on eBay, can anyone tell me why i am mad and why i have missed a trick?

Mine's gone wrong after 3 weeks of receivingSo,I guess I'm biassed, but I can't see any reason to dissuaude you. After the first few dys I was wondering why I had tied myself to an 18 month,£35 a month contract for a phone that's exceedingly slow, painful to navigate it's menu system and doesn't appear to do anything particularly well.Get shot of it mate, you won't regret it.
