Help / Advice - damaged phone / buy out contract

Hi, would appreciate any advice / help if anyone can.

I am in the last 3 months of an 18 month contract with 02, but just managed to drop my phone in a hot cup of tea

Im not sure if the phones going to work again properly just yet was a very tempremental Nokia N95 anyway and I cant wait to get rid of it as it is.

Unfortunately I have failed to register my phone with my phone insurance I get with my bank, so cant claim for it there.

I am tempted to just buy out the remaining couple of months on my contract and start afresh, but I have heard that some companies will buy out a contract for you if you start one with them, is that correct? My main concerns are I want to get a new phone as cheap as possible and want to keep my number and I need to do this as quick as I can as I cant be without my phone at the moment.

If anyone has any suggestions or advice on best thing to do I would appreciate it.

cheers

They only care about sales and not service.
They scam people out of money with their dodgy cash-back deals.
They sell pre-pays to box breakers.
They constantly mis-sell products through either a lack of knowledge or disregard for the trading standards implications.
They pass all service problems onto the networks.
Their staff all have **** suits, cheap shoes and tie's with big knots in.
