Help choosing PDA or similar?

Have had a fiddle with an O2 XDA Orbit and found the calendar function and pretty much the whole package to be brilliant and had a look to get one. Thing is I'd have to open a £40+ per month contract in order to get it free, but I already have a company contract (can't upgrade my current phone as it's a batch contract, everyone would have to have it).
I suppose then what i'm asking is, are there any other organisers around, similar to the XDA Orbit, (satnav is not important by the way) which wouldn't require a very expensive contract or would be relatively cheap to buy etc. Was looking at the blackberry range etc but don't know much about all these PDA's. I use iCal on Mac OSX which is brilliant but I wouldn't really expect many things to Sync with it as they would most likely be Windows based. Could anyone reccomend anything?,
Many thanks

Re: Help choosing PDA or similar?

For syncing with the Mac, try Missing Sync from Mark/Space. There are a few people selling the XDA Orbit on eBay for around £275 brand new if you want to get it that way. This gives you the option to get a contract that you are more comfortable in paying for.

Other options are T-Mobile MDA Compact 3 (same thing as the XDA), HTC Kaiser or the Palm Treo 750. All are Windows Mobile 5/6 devices.

Re: Help choosing PDA or similar?

Had a further look and i've been looking at the Toshiba Portege G500, has windows mobile, fingerprint sensor and is pretty small. Looks like a good package and £189.99 sim free. Looking for something like this. A relatively slim smartphone which is compatible with windows mobile applications. Not really interested in the very expensive overloaded smartphones. The XDA was great but out of my price range
