Getting out of Contract

Hi people,

My work place is moving me to South Korea. All good. However i am 7 months into an 18 month mobile contract with O2. I have called them and attempted to explain the situation but they have only given me one option : pay up the remainder of my contract.

As this would be well over £500, this is not an option. Is there any other way anyone knows that i can get out of this contract and not incur a ridiculously large charge?

Thanks.

Re: Getting out of Contract

I assume the ridiculously large charge is representative of the ridiculously large subsidy O2 gave you on the handset

Only thing I can think of is that you either:

a) Pass/sell on the phone and it's associated contract

or

b) Get your employer to pay the costs as an expense incurred by your relocation.

You might also try asking O2 if they'd reduce the amount if you returned the handset.

Re: Getting out of Contract

If you cant get out of the contract which you usually cant tbh id go onto the lowest tariff (if you can) and then ebay the handset to cover some of the remaining months left.
