O2 and internet use

Hi

Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone & 3 all have unlimited (or close to) internet use for a small fee. Does anyone know if 02 plan to do something similar?

T-Mobile will let me upgrade to a K810 with the lowest flex package and web & walk for £24.50 on an 18 month contract.

Would really like a E65 on 3 but worried about there signal coverage also they want me to sign up for 18 mths. I have yet to get a price for this.

O2 offer a K810 with 500 text and 200 mins for GBP30 per month on a 12 month contract. But no web option.

3 use the orange 2G network remember. 3 and t-mobile offer unlimited data (well with fair usage policies of at least 1GB) for £5 and £7.50, respectively. Vodafone's unlimited tariff gives you just 120MB of data for £7.50 per month, and Orange's £8 unlimited anytime tariff is capped at a shocking 30MB! Orange, though, do offer an unlimited (1GB) evening and weekend data tariff for £5 per month.

The best one to go with, at the moment, is definately T-Mobile because it offers a good amount of data and has good tariffs all round.

What are your opinions on these then?

Re: O2 and internet use

For me it’s a really difficult choice.

Vodafone is no good to me as no signal at home.

Orange I have been with before but I spend a lot of my weekends in Norfolk and they have no signal there.

3 I love as they give me £5 to spend on down loads and I do this every month. However signal at home is not great and goes from 4 bars to no signal in seconds.
I would get 150 mins and 750 txt + x-series & £5 down loads + an E65 for £30 per month £22.50 for the first 6 months.

T-Mobile – Well good signal and they have offered me a U600 or a K810 for £24.50 per month on the lowest flex plan with web & walk. However I really wanted an E65 and think I will miss my free £5 music down loads.

The question comes down to do I go with

1) 3 and get the handset that I want but know that the signal might cause problems.

2) T-Mobile not get the hand set that I want but know that it will work

3) Go with O2 get the hand set that I want and hope that they bring out some sort of internet add-on.

Any views?

Rich

In my flat the signal is dodgy; O2 gets vitually no signal at all, but I can get a signal in most parts of the flat.

Moral of story: All this discussion about tariffs is no good if you can't use the phone where you need it. Ask your mates what networks they're on and whether they get a good signal. Then go from there.

Whenever you have a 3G signal, as you have in the example, you will use 3's network to call and whatever. When you go out of 3's 3G range, though, you switch over to 2G orange. Does that answer your question?
