Faulty charger

Hi, the charger for my n73 has developed a fault where it only works intermittently, usually after having wiggled the cable around. The phone is still in warrenty. Should i contact 3 or nokia?
Regards
kevin

Re: Faulty charger

this seems to be common on the newer nokias with the small charger connector, it is usually the socket in the phone that is damaged. maybe done under warrenty (nokia) but they may say customer damage

Re: Faulty charger

chargers usually only have a 6 month warranty so depends when you bought it. The nokia rep told me they are getting a lot of chargers go faulty because the connection pin is so small now that people are winding it round the plug which makes the wires pull out within the lead. Sounds like a design flaw to me. should just go back to the old charger with the big pin

I'd take it to 3 personally, you bought it from them so they have to deal with it. You are backed up with the Sale of Goods act as well.

And anyway, you can always play the "fine, just won't make calls from your phone then or renew my contract when the time comes" card, think you will see them move quite sharpish to sort the phone out then.
