In such a dilemna about which phone to get

My contract with O2 ends in may so I can upgrade on 30th April, but I'm seriously thinking about going over to Orange simply because I have broadband with Orange and fi you go for an 18 month contact of 30+ your broadband is free.
So, I have spent days and nights and hours trawling the net for the best phone (preferably a free one) and I just seem to be going 'round in circles. Really wanted the N65 but it's still not outin the UK - anyone know when it will be??? Anyway, criteria is:-

1. slim (& pretty!)
2. camera (2-3mp)
3. not fussed about mp3 player as i have one, but want to use MP3 ringtones
4. do not like phoneswith joysticks and not too keen on candy bar

Maxx V6 looked good but not keen on it when I saw it in the shop. Krzr nice but read some dodgy stuff about it. really like the new Samsung U600 but not clear if it is touchpad which I don't think I could handle.

so I'd be interested to read your thoughts and suggestions

Try a Sony Ericsson phone. K800 for the best 3.2mp camera out.

Or wait a month or so as many are expecting Sony to unleash a new 5mp camera. Nokia N95 looks good but you always know that with sony ericsson the phone will last !!

PS: not sure what the N65 is ?

Thanks Goldfinger - my mistake, I meant N76 (beautiful red!) ha ha. I've never had a sony ericsson - are they really good? I just don't like the candy bar style but I know the spec is great.....

Re: In such a dilemna about which phone to get

There are other forms of 2mp phones and i think within a month or two they'll be 3.2mp phones coming out in different form factors.

Sony phones are IMO the best build quality bar none and by a nice distance. Was thinking about upgrading last week to the N95 even the guys at orange suggested i shouldn't get a Nokia due to how many faults they normally have. I'm gonna give it a month or two and see what new handsets they bring out. Free broadband on Orange is great huh im on it too, sweet deal !!

The thing about the K800i, it has a joystick. I have it, and I still don't like the joystick but it is made up by being a great phone.

It's not bulky, and you can get it in brown like me, less common and more pretty!

Re: In such a dilemna about which phone to get

I have to say I am anti-joystick. I have one on my work's mobile and tend to end up with a sore thumb. It's funny how difficult I'm finding this considering...I had a motorola for 2 years then went for samsung d600. Swore blind I was going to go back to motorola flip 'cause of screen protection...then my daughter got the pnk razr and I wasn't that impressed...then I started to remember the things i could do with the samsung.
I'm quite sad - i spent so many evenings reading all the reviews and I still can't decide.
I know Sony have the better spec right now - it's just the whole styling and joystick thing that is putting me off....oh dear

The K810i should be out very soon if you can wait. It seems to have roughly the same specs but is a litle smaller

I've had several nokia phones since 2000 and have been happy with them all on the whole, sure i've experienced the odd random shutdown and needed to exchange a 8210 but on the whole i have allways been pleased with them, hopefully the n95 will continue my good experiences.
