Is Orange Customer Service the very worst?
Is Orange customer service now the worst performing organisation in the country? I have been with Orange since it formed - quite some time now. However, over the past few days I have been trying to contact Orange CS to try to work our why my Sony Ericsson K510i phone won't send picture messages despite the fact it is registered and setup to send. So far I have tried to contact them for 4 days spending 3hrs 41mins on the phone. All you get is the automated female message "we are currently experiencing a high volume of calls, sorry for the delay your call will be answered shortly". I even tried at 2 in the morning yet I get the same message. I they taking the p**s or what?

Re: Is Orange Customer Service the very worst?
Lol, orange have one of the worst customer services reputations in the corporate gender in the uk, at the moment, myself and a friend are building a case against them as they are non reputable and totally prejudiced towards customers, they say that they are adequate, but infact are asian slaves sat behind a computer answering questions which answers are provided by a meens of software similar to that of ''Microsoft Help'' (provided free in windows operating systems)
I would recommend talking to friends who are more helpful in technology

No, im sure they arent based in this country. They are the worst in India as thats where my calls seem to end up.
If you get through and someone in India who reads a screen depending on what you say, then ask nicely to be put through to somone who speaks English. When i did i got a very helpful man up North somewhere. Result !!!

Re: Is Orange Customer Service the very worst?
Off topic slightly, but you just try Powergen for customer service, especially the business side, absolutely awful!
Had Powergen phone me up today at work and try to get us back, but the guy had no response when I said the reason was because their customer service was the worst I had ever had the misfortune to contact. It was almost like he knew it already.

Re: Is Orange Customer Service the very worst?
I was with Orange for 2 years, left because they wanted to downgrade me and put me a longer plan (wanted to offer me a Nokia 6233 for 18 months as an "upgrade" to my Treo 650 - yeah right). To add insult to injury, they were going to scale back my text msgs after 4 months. So I said f'it, got my pac code and went to three. With three, all calls end up in India but they speak good enough english and know what they are talking about
When I was with Orange, I never went through to India, always a UK based person. From their accents they were either Scottish or from up north.

Re: Is Orange Customer Service the very worst?
I think Vodafone have the worst customer service to be honest.
At one point I was in a store with a problem and even after their own guys were telling them the voicemail wasn't working as they had the phone and sim in front of them, the technical support and customer support at their call centres still maintained it was working fine.
We won't mention them overcharging me by £120 after I reduced my tarif, which they did (and was on their system the day I did it), but somehow managed to keep taking the old amount for as well.
Orange are close in that regard though. Virgin Mobile have excellent customer service though (IMO of course).

Re: Is Orange Customer Service the very worst?
I didn't think they were to bad,It was time to upgrade so I rang them 5o'clock ish ,5 minutes waiting. Said I was after a sony w950i they wanted £140 for it so I told them to cancel my contract. They put me through to cancelations and they offered it for free as long as i took out an 18 month contract which I think there all after putting us on..
I have been with them for years and I think there ok but then again I havn't had a real problem for them to deal with.
My vote goes to SKY.....

I was just going to say to ask to be put through to cancellations. Always very friendly and always sort out any problems even if they are still locked into a contract.
I've got someones personal extension i always use when i ring them but it wouldn't be right on that person to post it here.

Re: Is Orange Customer Service the very worst?
I asked Orange for an upgrade to a PDA phone - I'm about 9 months into an 18 month contract.
The "upgrade" fee was £250 + £200 for the new phone - total £450.
I went through to cancellaytions, they quoted me £175 to cancel the contract, I could then get the phone I wanted on a contract for free from Orange. However because they wouldn't budge I went to O2 instead

Re: Is Orange Customer Service the very worst?
Orange have two sets of customer services, the old premier customers got a special cs number of 448, there are rarely long waits on that, but they might select who can access it, but worth a try.

I was with orange for 6 years and to nbe honest at first they were by far the best network provider.
Then it just went t*ts up and the cs was terrible.
I upgraded to a N80 on a decent contract but i went through 3 N80's and i won't bother telling you about how i had to deal with the cs whilst getting replacement phones.
I then asked around to mates etec to see who was the best, Everyone was telling me three so i looked on their site and spotted a good deal on the n80.
After ringing them up etc etc, i got the n80 for free, 30mb of internet usage FREE for the life of my contract, 50 free video and pictures messages every month for the life of my contract, 600 minutes and 2000 texts for £15 for the 1st 6 mths then £30 for mths 7-18
Best move i ever made - three are defo the best network provider at the mo!!!
