work & home mobile on hands free bluetooth. "how?"

Hi Guys
Does anyone know of a hands free Bluetooth visor style that will let you use two mobiles phones at once?
Lots will let you pair up lots of phones, but not to use at the same time! “ie. To take or make a call from one at a time, but both are logged on”

I would like to use a hands free in any car that will work with both my own mobile and my works phone at the same time, with out having to pay the earth!!

Thanks guys, just can’t find anything online that clears this up!

I have never seen anything like you are asking for. I resorted to wearing two bluetooth ear-pieces - one in each ear.

Looked and felt like a jerk but only did it in the car or when working from my home office.

What you are looking for is a bluetooth headset with multi-point feature.

The PLANTRONICS VOYAGER 510 BLUETOOTH HEADSET supports this - its advertised as allowing you to pair it with your PC and your phone and accepts picks up whichever source is working at that time. But it should be able to handle two phones too.

Why not divert calls from one phone to the other one.

I've seen a visor mounted unit on QVC that can pair with upto 4 mobiles, can't remember the name of it however, could be parrot.

Re: work & home mobile on hands free bluetooth. "how?"

mmmmm. sounds like no one is sure if they are out there!

Strange given that there must be a lot of people who would want both work and personal mobile to work in the car from one Bluetooth unit.

I am no expert but you would think that it was not such an imposable feat.

Guess I will have to wait for some manufacturer to read this and get the job done.

“still, the thought of AJP with 2 ear pieces makes me smile, bet the car stereo is very load!”

Ps. don’t forget just because you can pair does not mean you can log 2 phones on at the same time!!!

Ok guys is it me! But I think that just because you can pair 5 or what ever number of phones to the little green feathered thing, this will still not let you and four mates sit in your car waiting to see whose phone rings first!

It just lets you pick one phone at a time and the rest will not log into or be able to be used until you log out! “bad parrot”

And more to the point as the phone shops don’t seem to know, or care to be honest!

How do I get a definitive answer to this question without the, you can pair up 2/3/or what ever, but can you have 2 phones in the car and pick up or make a call on either one?

Plantronics Voyager 510

http://www.plantronics.com/media/med...ger_Series.pdf

In that it mentions - paired devices - upto 8

Anyway - I own one of these. So I will try to pair up two mobiles to it and let you know how it goes.

Re: work & home mobile on hands free bluetooth. "how?"

nooooooooooo, just want to have a work and personal phone in the car and be able to take a call or make a call.

keep the wife happy on my phone if she calls or call my staff to let them know what ever on the work phone.

but the mobile shops tell me only one phone can be logged on to make or take calls.
i can pick which one, but not both at the same time. so i guess i can pair up mine, works, or my wife if i put it in her car when we go out in it.
the unit will deal with one at a time, and will hold info on all i have paired up, but still only deal with the 1st one logged on, the rest will not log on until i take the 1st off.

not sure i am putting this over very well!!
i think "but i don't know" the units will pair up or log all my phones and hold the info about them but can only log one at a time to use. you just have to pick which one you want to use on that trip.

which seems to me pretty dam silly when you may have more than one person in the car with a phone who may want to be hands free or you have to have a work phone and a personal phone but can only log one of them on at any one time.
must be lots of people with 2 phones who drive a car, and want both to be hands free.

you can buys these things from about £30 up, but i don't have the cash to go mad on some top of the range big boy, that may only work with one phone.

i love this site, it lets me rant my self happy even if i dont solve the problem.

so anyone know how to make a hands free call on a Bluetooth hands free visor clip thingy with 2 phones logged in "not make calls on both at the same time, just have them both logged on so i can use one or the other" and if so, what make and price.

mmmmmmmmmm felling better now.

I know what your saying, it wasn't parrot I was thinking about but these guys

They will have one to suit your needs and hopefully budget.

I am very interested in how this experiment goes. If it can maintain a connection (not just a pairing) with two bluetooth phones then what happens if one rings just after you answered the other, and how can (if its possible) you choose which of the two phones you want to dial out from? I spent ages reading reviews but none threw much light on the "multipoint" function other than on also using it with a PC and a mobile which doesn't interest me at present.

A single headset which can work simultaneously with a work and a personal phone sounds too good to be true.

Cheers,
AJP
