I'm looking for some help & advice in choosing a new handset. I'm out of contract, so I can choose absolutely anything I like...

At the moment I think I've narrowed it down to the S-E K800i or the new(ish) Blackberry 8100 Pearl.

The camera's not *that* important to me - I don't think I'll use it that much & have a Nikon D50 I use most of the time anyway, but I do want to be able to surf the web & get POP email.

I know that everyone using the 800i seems to love it, so I'd particularly like to hear from people using the Blackberry - what do you love/hate about it.

Some specific questions:

- Does the K800i do POP email? Does it do it well?

- What's the Blackberry's UI like? Some people have suggested it's slow?

- If I want to use the Blackberry to read (sometimes) Work email, will my work need to run Blackberry software on our email server (you used to have to do so for earlier BBs), or can I just get POP?

- What 3rd-party applications would users of either phone recommend?

- What bits of the apps supplied drive you nuts?

Finally - are there any other phones I should be considering (I know Stuff recommends the N80, but I can't see it on Vodafone or Orange's websites & I hear bad things about battery life...)?

I think I've finally decided & have gone for the K800i - in the end the extra 'business' stuff on the Blackberry seemed a bit pointless!
