Looking for a good, basic phone.

I wish to buy my wife a new phone for Christmas but being new to mobile phones there seems to be such a choice out there, I am lost

The Nokia 1600 appears to fit the bill, I don't want a camera, MP3 player, internet connection etc. but would prefer a clam-shell type, if such a basic phone exists?
The Samsung x160 appears to be close to the mark but it can be connected to the internet, which we do not require.
A good battery life between charges, ease of use and the ability to send text messages, that's all we really require.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

i have a Samsung X640 and it is very good. it is very easy to use and does come with a camera and internet, but u just dont have to use it. You can get this phone for about AUD$140
