Orange SPV M600

Hi,

I was hoping one of you kind people can help me out with my new Orange SPV M600, I appear to be having problems with the length of time the phone rings for when an incoming call is received! may sound a basic problem but i cant seem to get it to ring for more than 3-5 seconds, certainly not always long enough for you to get the phone out of your pocket and answer it.

I cant seem to find anywhere in the menus that will change the length of time it rings for before it stops and shows that I have a missed call. It does it regardless of whether its on ring only or vibrate and ring?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Re: Orange SPV M600

I called into my local Orange shop for assistance (not exactly over helpful to be honest!) the assistant informed me that it was not a problem with the phone settings as such but a code number had to be entered to prevent this from happenning. He told me I had to ring 150 for the code, turns out as its a company phone you have to ring 158, they were extremely helpful and gave me a 15 digit code that I had to enter into the phone which has solved the problem

Overall I am very impressed with the phone/PDA and would highly recommend it, although i'm no expert

Re: Orange SPV M600

also to further adjust the settings,
goto:

phonepad (press the call key is the quickest way)

menu in lower right
options:
highlight call forwarding
click get settings

then adjust the settings shown on new screen

love these devices but they could often be a little easier to work at times, especially the phone side.

Re: Orange SPV M600

If anyone else comes across this problem, try this Start, settings, then phone icon, when the phone icon has been pressed you will get a box open with Phone, services, network etc along the bottom of the screen goto the furthest which is called more and see what setting you have on the Automatic pickup because if this is ticked the phone will answer incoming calls without pressing talk within 3 rings.

Have just purchased microsoft voice command for my m600 and well impressed, theres a free 5 day trial on handango web site, the windows mobile 3 version does work on this phone, although they do have a american version for windows 5 that allows you to use the programme with a blue tooth headset ( just remember though that they pronounce mobile and other words differently ) which is why i purchased the older version, i can basically start any programme on my phone by using my voice, will admit that i have had a few hiccups but it usually works fine and saves messing about with the stylus especially when you can just press one button that you assighn the programme and then just say call mark at home, 9 out of 10 from me although my Mrs reckons the voice on the programme sounds chinese
