MDA Compact III - Worth a mention!

Hello all

Not really a problem as such - more of a heads up really.
Just got this phone through T-Mobile..I've had the the MDA 1 + 2, and all i can say this device much much better! I sold my N73 a couple weeks back as it couldn't seem to do simple things like take calls without crashing...Decided enough was enough and off it went to Portugal (via ebay)..

Anyway, anyone thinking about getting this phone should really go for it! It has built in Sirf start iii GPS device, which means theres no need for a separate device. Simply load up tomtom, and your off!
Screen is sharp and clear, and size and weight of phone excellent.
The only drawback is no wifi. T-mobile decided in their infinite wisdom to disable this function in an attempt to sell more web and walk. T-mobile in Europe haven't done this and wifi is available. In fact O2 have their version of this phone (O2 Orbit) which has the wifi enabled).
I believe its a matter of time before someone figures out how to re-enable it as i don't believe they have taken out any components.
Speed is good. Has had some negtive write-ups with its 200mhz processor, but mine is super quick, and i have problems with any functions..In fact its as quick as the MDA I which had a 400mhz processor.
Camera ok for a 2 megapixel.
Loads more windows features - just look it up!

Regards

Re: MDA Compact III - Worth a mention!

I went to see a customer who is trialling the O2 Orbit - it is one fantastic device - although it has no keyboard (like the Orange M3100 which I have and love) this was easily the nicest converged device I have seen.

As you say the GPS was rapid - like the TOM TOM Mk2 I have and the ability to use a mouse pointer on the screen was cool.
I did not realise T-Mobile had released one so thanks for the heads up.

Is it me or is the Orange network under performing? Living in central london - absolutely poo reception (not much in the way of 3G) and dropping calls all the time - I will have to change as I cant hold a business conversation as easily any more.
