Re: Which mobile phone?

What deal is that ??

Seems a bit expensive for any of those phones.
You can get most of them for free on most tariffs on all networks.

I have just signed up for Orange Dolphin £30/month + 60pics a month (£4/m) and got the Samsung D900 for free (meaning my unlimited BroadBand is £5 a month !!!!).

Out of all of those listed i have only had the W810i (which is for sale in the sale section) and i found it one of the best and easiest phones to use. Very quick and simple, just a bit bland really.
Oh and the missus has the PEBL. Its OK, but not very user friendly (cam is crap and menus arent much better, plus buttons are a bi hard to use), but it would suit a small handed technophobe i guess.

Again, post what deal you are getting, coz im sure you can get it cheaper.

Re: Which mobile phone?

It's the Racoon £35. On the L6 you get 15/18 months cashback. The others you get less months cashback (that's why they're all multiples of £35.

I need 18 months to qualify for free BB.

If its the cashack you want then go for it, but if you go through the official Orange website you can get free phones, which would more than compensate for the price of the phone to cashback.

So what i did, take some time and work out how much you would spend in 19 months on the following tariffs :

http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop/yourplan/online

I believe the Dolphin ones are the best for value, but its up to you. plus Customer Service is going to be better through Orange than a 3rd Party (im sure someone will correct me though).

Hope that helps.

Re: Which mobile phone?

I'm not sure what you mean....

E.g. if I go to Orange direct and take the Motorola L7 for example, on an 18 month racoon contract, I get the phone free but then pay £35x18= £630

If I go here I get the same deal but get 14 months cashback and only pay £35x4=£140

For 550 anytime mins per month + 200 texts, free unlimited landline calls, free calls to "magic number" plus 18 months free BB, that doesn't sound bad to me....

Re: Which mobile phone?

I guess im just an old cycnic.

Nothing in life is for free, especialy when it comes to mobile phones and online companies ive never heard of. I would be worried about not getting my money back :

But a bit more positive (ish) :

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...d.html?t=85673

Then again, if saves you money whatever then go for it, as Orange dont do cashback.

Re: Which mobile phone?

I've just last week got a FREE P990I on Canary 30 18 months with 1 Magic Number, 325 anytime X Network minutes and 300 Orange to Orange off peak minutes and 150 text. All for £30 a month.

That was through Orange retentions as an upgrade. I would be very wary of chashback deals with online company's as you have to send your bills in at exact times to get it. I would rather do like I did and go straight to the network and stuff the cahsback deals for more minutes and better phones.

The Motorola Peble is nice by the way if you can put up with it's menu system, defo try before you buy. The K750I is also fantastic but I would go for a K800I now as it's free on a lot of contracts.

E2Save are part of Carphone Warehouse so should be fine.

You also need to check who you deal with if you have a problem, if you go to E2Save, don't you need to use there support?
