Vodafone PORT Number NEW CONTRACT

I've just purchased a memorable number (for business) and unfortuantely have only 3 weeks ago taken out a Voda contract (75 quid a month). I want to port the number across. But they say its not possible and had to be done at the start of contract or cancel the contract and pay all 18mths and re-start. NO CHANCE! What are my options, is it possible to get the memorable number ported over mid-contract?

Other option is to get a 2nd line? Is this possible on Voda using 8800 scirocco, also wants the cheapest tariff I could add to?
