T-Mobile

I've been with Orange for a couple of years and it's coming up to renewal time and I'm thinking of moving to T-Mobile for their Web'n'Walk, after all, what's the point in having a 3G phone if you're paying through the nose to use it?

What are T-Mobile like for signal strength, coverage etc...? Also what is there customer service like? I've been on Orange 'Premiere' and if I've had a problem with a phone then I call up and within 24 hours there's a new phone in my hands....

As in they've never gone wrong, or when they did they were replaced quickly?

Re: T-Mobile

i switched over from o2 to tmobile a few months ago (due to poor service i was getting with o2 and a much better tarrif on tmobile) however i deeply regret it.
i use the same handset as i did on o2, and i used to get signal nearly everywhere i went when i was still on o2. never could fault it.

now on t mobile i get fairly good signal most places APART from inside my flat (where its so rare that i get any signal at all i cant rememeber the last time i did!) and i get limited signal in most parts of the town i live in. this is so frustrating as every other network i have used or my friends use seem to be fine everywhere. its just a case of the most important places i dont have any signal, but everywhere else is fine.

its incredibly frustrating. i love t mobiles flext tariff, and their unlimited gprs, and i was hoping to reduce my landline bills with the inclusive calls, but im ending up using it more. i feel like ive gone back in time when i have to go outside or stick my phone out the window to send a text.

t mobile have said that its probably just temp problems, but its been a few months and nothing has changed. id see if you can check to see what the signal is like in your area first!

ive had limited experiance with their customer service, bar porting my number to them and complaining about the lack of signal/service. they were nothing special, and as i was expecting from a big firm with lots of customers. long time to wait, bit of nonsense from the person on the other end but ultimately quite satisfied and not too frustrated!

i used to hate the way i was treated by o2. my bills used to regularly get messed up and i'd end up paying for their mistakes. when i cancelled my contract i was treated like a human again by them. i was given individual numbers for someone there, who always rang back when he said he would and was very polite and understanding. typical really!!

Re: T-Mobile

On the coverage front I might get a T-Mobile PAYG to check what the reception is like at home etc...

Orange Premiere used to have it's own customer services with no menus/hold times etc... you'd call and go straight through to an operator. Suddenly now you have to go through menus etc... so I think they realised that employing a team of people just to answer calls from 'Premiere' customers wasn't cost effecient!

The most impressive element of Orange has to be their phone replacement though. If I called now and tell them my phone had died I would have a new phone delivered tomorrow morning by motor bike courier! That's a very useful service and I'm wondering if T-Mobile's is the same?

Re: T-Mobile

I was on Vodafone before moving to T-Mob. a few months back. I'd only partly go along with the coverage problems. Yes I've noticed it does tend to drop the signal, but that's only in certain places. It's so far done it in two places, one is at work, where it's only in a 5ft square, everywhere else in the building is fine! The other was just outside Bridlington, where both my T-Mobile and the GFs O2 lost their signal. Howeber, th thing's halved my bills thanks to FLEXT, so I can easily live with it. I get £180 worth of credit a month, and it's now a personal aim to get as much used as I can, never got anywhere near ! For 35 notes a month that's a bargain as far as I'm concerned!
