contract ending soon - help needed

my current contract is ending in december, but i have been told that i can have an upgrade (from vodafone) this month. my question is that can i still search for other deals on websites (www.mobilereserve.com) and then ask vodafone to match it for me? or can they turn around and say no as im still in contract?

You can only ask - as the mobile market is reaching saturation now, companies are much keener to keep your business. Just say you want to disconnect once your contract is up and quote a decent new contract deal and ask them to match. A number of posters here have obtained good retainer deals recently.

knowing vodafones; upgrade policy then unless you arer spending loads each month and want a cheapish handset they will just say Seeya

I've been with O2 for over 5 years spending around £40pm and wanted an upgrade to a Nokia n91; O2 upgrades wanted £200 and even O2 retentions wanted £150.

Using another alias of the website you mentioned above I found this offer http://www.mobileshop.com/mobile-pho...PNEWO2NK910004

Same handset on a cheaper tariff for free!

O2 just laughed and waved when I asked them to match it!

Re: contract ending soon - help needed

I've been with vodafone for years on a cheap contract (£15 pm).

I always get crappy deals when I phone up and ask for an upgrade. As soon as you send your 30 days notice letter, however, they normally phone you with a much better offer.

My last deal (for 18 months) included the then new 6230i for free and 6 months half price line rental.
