Looking for 1 of those 'signal booster' thingees

You know, the little piece of metal that tends to stick on your battery and claims to improve your signal.

My brother has moved house to an area where he only gets 1 bar maximum, and he insists he wants to try one out to see if it helps.

I had one a few years back and believe them to be a load of nonsense, but he still wants to try it!!

So, would anybody have one to sell. Obviously I will not offer silly money for it.

Thanks

Trust me, they are a waste of time. I live in a low signal area and has not improved my reception in the slightest.

Yeah I know.

As I mentioned in the original post, I too have experience of them and found them to be useless.

But heh, try telling the bro' that!!

Tell him look bro they are useless dont bother, i remember they tested them on brainiac and found them to be useless but did find that a long metal wire attached to a large metal biscuit tin works a treat

Re: Looking for 1 of those 'signal booster' thingees

Failing this, does anyone know if it is possible to get anything to improve your reception in a bad area - not talking about a biscuit tin lid by the way!!

Was thinking more of an external aerial that can somehow be linked to your mobile. I realise that this won't make it too mobile any more, but while in the house it doesn't have to move around much.

Trying to avoid getting a landline in at all costs.

Re: Looking for 1 of those 'signal booster' thingees

Vodafone sent me a signal booster for a Nokia 6230i. Basically it is a plastic piece that fits around the aerial section of your phone connected by cable to a suction pad aerial that you stick on an external window. Similar in a way to a car phone aerial.

The phone is mobile enough in the room you are in as the cable is pretty long.
