does anyone know if the orange deal "500x-mins + unlimited texts + free orange/wanadoo broadband" is only obtainable from orange on-line or what?
i have 2 months left on my contract and previously i've been into phones4u and they have given me cash for the remainding months of my contract if i take a new one with them.
will i get the same tarriff from shops or only orange shop?

Depends if the three Orange business units are in sync of there offers. I am a current Orange customer and they offered me three different deals to upgrade. When I asked why they told me that Internet Sales, Telephone Sales and shop sales are three different businesses that do not talk to each other. I think you will get your best offer by telephoning the telesales team.

the orange outlets in the high street are franchises and they cannot offer the same deals. i.e Dolphin in a shop will get you 500 mins and 500 texts, dolphin on -line will get you 550 mins and unlimited texts, so worth the difference !
Just phone the sales number on the website and a nice scottish lady makes it all happen very nicely and give uyou the on-line deal, at least she did about two hours ago for me.
Shame I wasted petrol driving to the local shops really.

I refused the free broadband cos a) its not that great a deal and B) I already got better on cable.

thanks for the reply. i went ahead and ordered 2 (me and the mrs) today. i on the otherhand took the broadband as i already have wanadoo/orange so now get it for free i was wondering about the cash back(as they do in shops) as i still have 2 months left on my contract and owe £70. I've since been on ebay and realised i can get at least that for my n70 which will then pay for remainding 02 tarriff.. that'll do me!

I recently got an M3100 on orange, 18 month contract, £35 month with 500mins and 500 texts dolphin i think, (click click, clickety click, splash what's that flipper?) and got a call from orange today and they told me about the 'free' broadband deal.

I'm currently on telewest cable (phone, tv and broadband) and pay about £40 a month but don't watch much tv and I'd be happy to keep just the broadband and do away with the landline but the missus wants to keep a landline.

From what I can tell telewest won't provide broadband only so I'm considering getting my BT line re-connected and go with the orange phone and broadband and do away with telewest completely.

What bothers me is:

How much does 'free' actually mean? what would I pay in total inc. line rental etc

The standard freeview picture quality isn't as good as the cable.

How much will the reconnection fee be?

How good is the speed and quality of the orange broadband?

Orange broadband is Adsl, and what speed you can achieve depends on how far you live from a digital exchange. On the BT website you can check what connection you can get by imputting your postcode.

Tried the postcode check but I'm currently not eligible as I have a telewest line, I checked using my next door neighbours address and it said I should get 6-8mb.

I've read mixed reviews of the livebox, but generally it looks pretty good, for £11 line rental to BT and £5 for the unlimited orange broadband offer I'll have upto 8mb adsl broadband and cheap voip calls using a normal phone plugged into the livebox!

my experience with the livebox has been good

the setup procedure is sposed to be simplified for morons, but they've just ended up making it harder

but once you get it going it's a very good router. very stable and the wireless range is better than any of the other wireless routers that i have paid money for in the past!

******! Got my upgrade from the shop just last week!!

Had Wanadoo / Orange broadband for a year now - the livebox has been spot on, only had 1 problem with it when it blocked out an IP range, a reinstall of the software sorted that out - the tech on the support line really knew his stuff which was a bonus.

I have been with Freeserve .... then Wanadoo ..... then Orange for a few years now and recently decided to get the Livebox.
It sortedd out my Home Wireless Network. Now im networking everythign i own and find it extremely good.



Im now going to try and wangle 2 mobile contracts with them for me and the Mrs.

We have 3 months each left on our contract, will they do me a deal if we sign up for 2 Dolphin £35 contracts now ???

im the same, ive been with freeserve,wanadoo and now orange, i have never negotiated a contract for broadband with them and pay the 17.99 a month for 1mb service, i now see that i could get a free upgrade to maybe 8meg if i sign for 12 months, i never had a livebox or anything and use a belkin 54g router which is great.
Should i go with a new contract??

This is what i have done :

1. In th past i had £22.99 for 1Mb BB with 6GB download via Orange and £24 for O2 contract with 300 texts and 150 mins a month
TOTAL per month = £47

2. Changed to 8MB BB (but get 2.2 in reality) Unlimited downloads for £19.99 a month and now signed up for Orange Dolphin £30/month which is 500 mins and 850 texts + £4 picture messaging, meaning my BB changes to £5 a month.
TOTAL per month = £39

That means i was paying £47 a month, im now paying £39 a month and get 550 more texts, 350 more minutes a month and twice as fast broadband with unlimiteed download for £8 less a month.

If i were you i would sign up for an Orange contract (make sure its over £30) and then switch to the unlimited broadband package and pay £5 a month for it (meaning you would pay a minimum of £35 a month for both phone + internet).
Then sell your router as you get the Livebox for FREE. And its a good bit of kit.

ALSO, you get LiveTalk for free, which means via the LiveBox i get free phonecalls over VOIP and its very good quality. PLUS with your Orange number, you can have a Magic number which i will set as the Livebox number (can only be Orange number) which i now have a second home phone connected too to make calls, but the BT line to receive calls (its an 0845 number you get !!!)

Hi and merry xmas everyone anyway i got this deal a couple of days ago with dolphin35 i am also with o2.But i have to say that i have a serious problem with the signal from orange as i barely get one at all from my house most of the time there is no signal and on the lcd screen the message Emergency only appears With o2 the signal is full whack so i phoned orange and complained the guy said no way it should be that bad as my area has good coverage and has passed my problem onto technical who respond within 72hrs Anyway if it does'nt get sorted out in the next few days i am going to cancel the contract as it is unaccteptable Anyone else had signal problems with orange and did they sort it out for you.
