Where is contacts list stored on WM5 device?

Hi

I've recently bought an O2 XDA mini 2 (WM5). I've been trying to find where the contacts list is stored, but using file explorer and various other products (trialled from Handango site), I've not been able to find it. Can anybody tell me what the default location is?

The reason I want this information is that I'm thinking of getting a backup program, but need to know where the most important stuff I have on the PDA (contacts) is to backup!!

Also, any suggestions for an inexpensive backup program?

Many thanks

Julia A

Re: Where is contacts list stored on WM5 device?

id recomend spb backup.

set scheduled backups as often as u want (i do it twice a week at like 2 in the morning) and iv set it to store 4 schedueled backups meaning i can go back 2 weeks if i like)
plus i do my own backups if testing new software etc, and set key backups.

it backsup everything!

so lets say your pda gets broke and they send you a new one, turn it on, run the self installer backup file and within mins it will be just like your old one in everyway! settings programs, contacts the lot!

Thanks for this, Daddy K

It would still be useful to know where the contacts are stored on WM5 (or is it an inaccessible Windows folder?)

Regards

Doesn't ActiveSync automatically back up everything anyway? Surely extra backing up would be unnecessary?

Re: Where is contacts list stored on WM5 device?

Activesync doesn't backup WM5 devices, then again there is no need as data is no longer stored in volatile memory (i.e. when your battery dies the data remains)

Contacts are stored in a database on WM5 so aren't viewable from file explorer.

I'd also recommend SPBBackup. the trial version gves you 5 full runs of the prgram to test before buying it.

SPBBackup will backup the WHOLE device and save the backup file as a Cab file onto the MiniSD memory card in your PDA/Phone. if you have a problem or need to hard reset the phone you just browse to the file with explorer and tap the backup file and your whole device will be restored.

Can recommend spb also. The latest version will backup your storage card too.
