Transferring photos from SD card to O2 Mini S (mini usb)

Hi

Can anybody advise? I recently bought an XDA mini S (great device!). We'd like to be able to show photos on it that we took with our camera (Canon Powershot S3), without a PC (eg on holiday). The thing is that the camera uses full size SD cards, whereas the Mini s uses mini SD cards, and only has a mini USB port. Is there such a thing as a card reader that has a mini USB port, that we could connect to the XDA to enable the SD card to be read?

I've tried several of the large PC accessory shops, but they're not interested unless I know the name/make of the product (whereas I don't even know if such a product exists!)

Any alternative suggestions for making the transfer would be appreciated too.

Many thanks

Julia A

If you use Activesync on your PC, it will create a folder for your mini S. Assuming you can connect your camera to your PC, all you need to do is copy them to your PC, then use the explore button within Activesync open up your SD card on the Mini s and paste the pictures.

Havent used a card reader myself but worth tryimg www.mobymemory.com

Re: Transferring photos from SD card to O2 Mini S (mini usb)

Hi, thanks for your suggestion.

The problem is that I want to be able to transfer the photos when I'm away from a PC. So I can't use the ActiveSync. Essentially I want to use the XDA in place of a PC!

I'll have a look on Mobymemory

Regards

ok all you need is a card adapter, simply plug your mini sd into adapter and then it will turn it full size to use in your camera.

id recomend a nice new mini sd card purely for your camera (they usually come with adapter now anyhow), so your apps etc are safe on the card used for pda,
plus itl make clearing the card for pictures via camera simple rather than selecting each file to delete.

Re: Transferring photos from SD card to O2 Mini S (mini usb)

thanks for this, Daddy K. The problem is that we've got umpteen full size SD cards (from an earlier camera, and old Palms), so don't want to have to replace them all with mini versions.

Anyway, I contacted MemoryforLess, and they sent me a very helpful response - basically we can't connect up the XDA to a card reader without a USB bridge. We'll just have to think whether we're going to use a bridge enough to make it worthwhile to buy one.

Thanks again for your help
