Contradicting advice - confused as hell now!!!

I am due for a phone upgrade. I have a K750 at the mo which is OK but I am being tempted by the smart phones out there now.
I would really like a phone with wi fi so I can use it to browse the net at home or at a wifi spot.
It also needs to have a decentish camera as I am always taking pictures of my toddler,
and finally I would like a Sat Nav system as I am absolutely terrible with directions...
Now, I have done a bit of home work and I have the following in mind.

Nokia N73
O2 XDA Mini S - which I know is named something else if you get it from different network providers (Vario, HTC).
Nokia N80

My problem is I have read various internet reports on all three phones and each one gives different specs. For example, the N73, does not have wifi, so says a few websites, but when I have asked in the high street, I have been told it has that feature.
The N80 has been discontinued at Vodafone and T mobile due to various reports that it failed certain tests and had quite a few software and hardware issues - I dont know what these issues are, but for 2 companies to stop selling it, I dont know if I want that model anymore.

Finally, the XDA mini looks and feels nice. Windows based OS and touch screen. But I have been advised that the camera is not worth using as its quite lame.

I need advise please on the above or other phones that will do everything I am after.
So it needs to have a good camera,
Has to have wifi,
Touch screen would be very nice,
Sat Nav capabilities - ie decent screen to be able to see the maps etc,
MP3 player - not as important as the above, but would also be nice.

Thanks all....

I don't think you're going to like this much but this is what I've gathered regarding those 3 handsets.....

The Nokia N73 does not have wi-fi and the cam on the XDA isn't upto much. The N80 appears to have very poor battery life, struggling to last a day from what I've read.

100% agree with above posts.

You could look at the HTC TyTn: http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=TYTN
All the networks call it a different name for instance on Orange it's called the SPV M3100 but it's basically a windows smart phone with a 2mp camera and WiFi etc. The touch screen is good for web browsing.

Other wise I think the only model for you is the Sony Ericsson P990I, it has the same camera as your K750I and will be the easiest to use for you going from your K750I. It's got a better touch screen then the HTC and WiFi etc and the MP3 player is exactly the same as the Walkman phones without the brandng and is reported to be VERY good sounding:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?...=pp1&pid=10336

Then there's the N93 Nokia, again has all the features but is much bigger to use then the others, it's the same size as a P990I but a flip phone so you need to open it to use it:
http://www.nokia.com/nseries/index.h...nside,main_n93

I don't think there are too may WiFi smart phones with good cameras apart from the above. The N80 is quite chunky and it does only last about a day on it's battery from even light use from what I've heard.

Thanks all. Now I am more confused. I looked at the HTC TyTn thinking it was the same as the XDA mini but its got a 2 meg camera which is more like it. Then I googled some more and saw the HTC Hermes which looks very similar also....ahhhh.
Right...I want the Hermes. Where can I get one? Has it been rebranded for the networks so I can get it on contract without paying hundreds for it....
oh my head hurts...

edit - see totally confused. SPV M3100 is the Hermes...duh....

edit again - ohh and the xda trion... why change the names..I cant keep up.

He he, yeah it is confusing, HTC are the makers of the phone, but all networks call HTC phones what THEY want, I've no idea why but there you go I assume HTC don't like there name being used?
If you want to use it for the web you can get it on T-Mobile with it's web n walk -
http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/Dispatcher...phones_details
You should be able to get it for a cheap price on contract.
Which network do you want it on?

I live in the back of beyond so am limited to Vodafone and o2. Vodafone wanted 150 quid for the xda mini when I rang up yesterday even though I have been with them for 5 years - but cutomer loyalty means nothing nowdays.
Saw it at Carphone yesterday for free, with a 12 month contract at £25 a month - which is what I pay now. Explained this to Vodafone but they still wouldnt budge.

I would have liked to have gone onto Orange so I could get the M3100 but coverage is poor here so its gonna have to be o2.
Or I could wait a week or two when vodafone will probably give it away for nothing then...
Sod it.... I think I will just get a nokia 1110 on payg...much simpler.

Re: Contradicting advice - confused as hell now!!!

Only the now OLD version of the N80 has been discontinued, as a brand spanking new version is being released very soon, with more features and all bugs sorted.

As for battery life, if you use all the features I think the battery lasting one day is pretty damn good, get a laptop and use it the same way and see if that even lasts 3 hours!!

Re: Contradicting advice - confused as hell now!!!

You could look at the Nokia N91, it doesn't have a touch screen but has everything else you wanted. Vodafone sell it as well, as regards to them not offering you anything, ask them for your PAC code from the retentions department and stress how long you've been with them, when they ask why you are leaving tell them and they may very well do a deal which you say you'll think about. Then call them again a couple of day's later and see if they'll beat the offer again as you may of found a beter deal else where. This way you can get a decent deal usually.
You sure you can't get T-Mobile or Orange coverage? Orange are pretty good, I live in the country (Dorset) and there stronger then O2 or Vodafone where I am. You could try it on Orange and return the phone within 7 day's if you don't have coverage.
