XDA Mini S program closing

Hi guys, i'm new at this and have a question. I use task manager and the memory-running programs (in settings-system) stop all programs to close programs on my unit.
Is this sufifcient to keep the device running quickly or should i down load a program like Magic Button etc.

Thanks for your help.

Re: XDA Mini S program closing

that does it yes, however it can be a pain and long winded.
a little app i love and swear by is "dinar handy menu"
u can get a trial.
it will add what looks like a small icon to the lower right of your screen,
u can choose to tap it, or tap and hold it to have a little menu pop up like the start menu, this menu however is fully changable to display what you want.

i have mine showing
power off
soft reset
battery level
memory
clock (for setting alarms)
and finally! running programmes! so 2 screen taps im there no probs

Magic button works a treat for me. small, easy to use and it's free.

An essential app in my book. as is SPBBackup

not tried magic button. tell u what I would like, a simple prog that adds the minimise icon next to the x making x close and _ minimised, do u know of one that does just that? no more no less lol.

dito to spb backup, mines got 2 good backup points all working sweet, then scheduled backups twice a week in middle of night storing the newest 4, never worry bout anything now lol.
spb weather is a great lil today plugin too

Re: XDA Mini S program closing

thanks for the replies guys, i'll have to look around and get magic button or an equivalent.
as one of you mentioned the clock and alarms i have another question. Whenever i set an alarm it works just fine but i can't find any way of shutting it off, no notification or cancel tab. i've found that if i do a soft reset and then encourage a friend to send me a text message it stops the alarm. thats a pain as i'd like to be able to use the alarms. the other problem is that every time i do a soft reset the alarm starts up again till i recieve a text message.

Have any of you had this problem or similar?

cheers

Re: XDA Mini S program closing

The hard reset has indeed sorted the constant alarm problem. well pretty much, the problem now being that the alarm sound is absolutly crap. And the list of optional sounds aren't any better. Anyone know how to set the alarm sound (and reminders/messages for that matter) to a downloaded sound or music track?

oh and if i'm being an idiot about this don't be to harsh it's been a very long weekend.

Many thanks,
jeff
