Future Fimware upgrades for Nokia N73

Good evening to you all.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction as to where I can find out about future firmware upgrades for the Nokia N73.

There appears to be a few quirks in the s/ware at the minute, and it would be nice to know when/if they're to be sorted.

Many thakns.

Regards James

Quirks? Can you please elaborate?

I have the N73 and am very happy with it - an extremely impressive phone. I don't have any problems with it at all.

I do wish Nokia would follow suit with Sony Ericsson and allow users to update their own firmware via USB.

As per my other post.

When in stand by mode , when you press & hold # , it is meant to allow you to switch profiles from General to Silent , and vice versa. It doesn't.

Also , when making a call , the right soft key then shows Video Call , instead of back.

According to other forums , this is down to the firmware & it appears that the # short cut was for some reason left off after final release.

My firmware is v2.0628.0.0.1 (press *#0000# to find out)

Regards James

Looks like I am mistaken: you can update the firmware via PC (and OTA).

Good man.

Quicker solution. Assign one of your soft keys as your profiles instead of Messages & Clock. Just press it and then scroll down to which profile you want. Much easier & kinder to the fingers than pressing the power button at the top.

Or , put your profile settings as the first icon on the tool bars. Just press this once & scroll down etc.

Regards James

Agreed. However, I've already assigned all my keys to various uses such as Bluetooth, Alarm Clock, SMS New Message, File Manager, Call/SMS logs etc.

Actually it does! I mis-read it: it says "Wife" and not "WiFi"!
