Nokia 610 car kit help.....

Does anyone have this fitted in their car? I'm just bought a car with it installed, and just need to understand if the basic bluetooth functions work with any phone, or whether I need a Nokia?

I know the SAP phones are Nokia's, but I'd just be happy with the basic functions

I have a 616 car kit, and yes it also uses the other BT profiles aswell, handsfree and headset. Not sure what the difference was between the 610 and 616 though.

Also its not just Nokia's that have SAP, there are other manufacturers that use it.

Re: Nokia 610 car kit help.....

Bumping an old thread, but I have exactly the same question as UrbanT.

Did you get yours sorted Urban?

According to Nokia the car kit will connect to three nokia phones, of which the 6230 is one, (borrowed a friend's today and it works fine), but it also connects using remote sim.

I can't get it to connect to my Sony W800i, nor can i get it to find a Motorola V3.

Any ideas?

On another tangent, is it possible to get a 6230 phone, leave it in the car permanently. So when I get in with my W800i it diverts to the 6230, meaning all calls would come through on the car kit?

Re: Nokia 610 car kit help.....

I went and bought another 6230i, which is a phone I always liked. I couldn't get any other phone to connect at all, including my old Razr V3. With a Nokia phone, it works beautifully, as it auto connects when you start your car up.

Can't answer the second part of your question though, sorry
