MDA Vario / SPV M600

I was after an MDA Vario or SPV M600.
TMobile my existing provider want £120 from me to upgrade to the MDA at the end of my contract (which is now). As a new csutomer on FlexT + Web+Walk I can pay nowt for this phone, and if I want the Co-pilot stuff, its £29.99. Other than starting a new account and hence a new telephone number it looks like Im off to Orange and a new SPV M600 which I reckon has got the edge anyway. Anyone got any comments on the difference between these two phones/PDAs ?

Bloody T-Mobile. The guy at customer service even had the cheek to say that he valued my 7 years of custom !
At least Dick Turpin had the good Grace to wear a mask !

I don't know what the cost is but orange are now doing the SPV M3100 which has most of the features and abilities of the XDA Exec (MDA Pro, SPV M5000, i-mate JASJAR) but in the Vario form-factor.

It's code name when marketed sim-free by makers HTC is TyTN. Give it a search, looks pretty good. Like I say, I don't know what the cost is but it might be a better choice than the Vario/600 atm.

Thanks whymca. Its a few mil thicker than the M600 but a lovely looking machine. Had read up about the TyTN and liked it but as its so new will cost me more. Orange are doing it for £149 on the price plan that Im looking at as opposed to £99 for the M600. Im looking to get one for free, but dont want to go to third party suppliers. Might have to in the end.

You could get your PAC code from T-mobile, transfer it to EasyMobile for a few days then get the PAC from them (no minimum contract) and transfer it back to a new T-mobile contract...

I had a SPV M600 that I eventually gave it away because it was so sluggish to use - very annoying with cinstant pauses etc, and mine was overclocked to 264.

I got mine free on a 30 a month contract.

It's not really the machines spec but rather Windows Mobile and the use of flash rom instead of ram, so bear that in mind when you buy, although I guess the 195mhz cpu didnt help much.

I'm currently trying to source another Windows 2003 machine instead. like my previous Compact MDA.
