cancelling orange contract

my orange monthly contract is coming to its 12 month term shortly.

I want to end the contract and look for new deals around with other networks.

Where do I write to cancel my contract or can I email them from their contact us section on their website ?

thanks

You can call them from the handset on 150 and go through to the upgrade/retention department and cancel the contract with one months notice from the 11 month.

make sure you ask what deals they'll offer to keep you as a customer

Just ring them & ask them for your 'PAC' code.

When they ask why, you can tell them that you will be taking your number to another network for a far better deal.

I have already seen a good deal for Samsung E900 on o2 at e2save.com, its a cash back deal.

If I do get a 'PAC' code from orange, will i be able to port my orange number to o2 ?

Yes-that's exactly what the PAC code is for.

All you do is get it from Orange, sign up with O2 (or whoever), & give them that PAC code & they will port the number in for you.

You will have a new number for about 7 days or so, then your number will be live on your new phone.

I have just asked for my PAC code from Orange. They asked why I was leaving...probably something to do with the fact that they wanted £229 for an N80 upgrade.

Yeah right.

I have been with Orange for about 5 years, but time to test out someone elses service I think.

One question about porting - do you have to hand over the PAC code when you start a new contract with a new provider, or if I went and signed up now, could I give them the PAC code when it arrives?

Depends on the provider. I think Vodafone require the PAC at the signup stage but with others you can port your number once your contract as already started.

One of the guys that works for me is jumping ship to from Orange to 02 for a contract that gives him a free SE K800i, 1000 anytime/any network minutes, & 150 texts for £35.00 per month.

He rang Orange to ask if they would match it, they said no so he asked for his PAC code!

O2 also said that he could give them the PAC after he had signed up.

[Edit]-Here's a link if anyone's interested in that 02 deal.
