MDA Pro Updates

Hi
I am expecting my mda pro to arrive this week. I have seen there is an activsync update on t-mobile and an update for push email ( what is push email?). Does anyone know if there will be any kind of firmware update please? Any other downloads I should be looking at to improve the mda? I went to windows mobile 5 site and it looks as though you have to pay for those. Is it best to do these updates before I install anything that comes on the cd rom? Any help appreciated.
