Palm Tungsten TX

Hi all

I am thinking about getting the TX!

Few questions first though

1. What formats of video will it play?
2. Can it play full screen video horizontaly?
3. Does it have Wi-Fi if so is the internet good on it?
4. Is the there a slot for a memory card if so which type?
5. Whats the cheapest price you have seen?

Thanks

Hi, just bought one - £187.98 from Amazon:
1. Not sure - it has played about half of the ones I have tried, it is probably possible to install new software to get it to playback other files but not tried that yet.
2. Yes
3. Yes it has wi-fi, but not found a wi-fi network to try it on yet
4. Yes SD
5. Amazon

Alos, it has a normal headphone socket and good mp3 player on it, the screen is very clear/hi-res, it is responsive and lots of storage space. It doesn't come with a cradle (for charging and syncing) , which I bought separately.

I went for the TX as the Life Drive has an integrated hard drive, which means it is a little bigger and heavier - and hard drives may break! You can add tons of storage via memory cards to the TX, I didn't spot any other real differences between the two.

I watch videos on my TX at work, I find the best video player is TCPMP it plays every thing I throw at it, I convert tv shows (divx) with pocket dvd, this changes the video to the corect resolution and gives the option to set the frame rate to 25 frames per second for smooth playback.
TCPMP does need the contrast and brightness upping as the default settings are way to low.

I also use it for mp3 playback and the odd podcast.
Wifi is ok, its just a bit slow, but there are quite a few sites setup for pda's like www.bbc.co.uk/mobile/pda

Theres a review http://www.palminfocenter.com/news/8...ndheld-review/
