Hi Rainstel,

I work for Vodafone and can offer you some informal help.

As you've opened up a new connection, you've probably received your handset before your account has activated.

You’ll need to get your account activated if this is the case, so that you can start using your new phone. You can contact us via email to activate your account. Please visit www.vodafone.co.uk/contactus and use the code FIT135 in the main body of the email. By adding this code to your email, it’ll ensure that it’s routed to the most suitable person to help with your query.

The ‘contact us’ section will ask you to complete a few generic details about yourself as a security measure.

I hope this helps. Let me know how you get on.

Re: New phone showing "unregistered sim"

Wow I have the same problem only with an old phone I dont use much.

Just bought a top up and it wont load from what I read there is a time limit now if you dont use your phone in some months they disconnect you which I think sucks.

I sent an email with that code in its header I shall see what happens I dont think its fair for Vodafone to cut guys off like that with out so much as a warning.

Thanks for the advice.

Dont suppose anybody knows what error code 470d means on vodafone googled it nothing ?

Re: New phone showing "unregistered sim"

All the networks will disconnect a SIM if it hasn't been used, but it is after a long time. All you need to do is make or receive a call or send a text every six months or so to keep you number.

If you call them they might be able to re-connect the SIM (dependant on how long its been) or supply a new SIM.
