N80 on Vodafone

Good news.

Vodafone just rang me to say they have have the n80 in stock, 400 at 12:00 today so will sell out quick! Mine is being delivered 2moro. Got it for 49.99 on an upgrade for 12 months as well on a £30 a month deal!

Will let you know how much they have branded it once it arrives.

Regards.

Jimmy

I just phoned Vodafone (191) and they do have them in stock however i am being told that they do not have any price plans available for the n80 yet and so couldn't be given a definate price and therefore was told the the only price i could be given for the handset at this time was £400

I nearly fell of my chair. When i asked as to '***' she went on to explain thats because the computers haven't updated yet as they only come in today and its the most expensive handset they do.

There's no way i'm paying anything like that for a phone. If i can't get it for less than £100 then i'll probably get an XDA Mini S instead as that has WiFi...

I went into the Phones-4-U store in Bluewater on Saturday to see if I could pickup an N80 on O2. The only operator they were able to offer me was Vodaphone on similar terms to Jimmy! Tempted but will hold out untill the end of the week when O2 should (hopefully)have them in.

I was quoted £220 to upgrade to N80 this morning at around 10am. After thinking about it for a while i rang vodafone back, the person i spoke to said they have none in stock the delivery is due today. I tried again at 2pm I was told i can upgrade for £200 plus 2 months free line rental for an 18 month contract, she then checked stock levels and guess what They are SOLD OUT the price still seams a little steep

Yes they bloody well are!!

I just phoned again in the hope i would get someone different and i did.

This time i was quoted £200 on a 12month contract and £150 on a 18month contract - What a joke!

I didn't tell him that i called only minutes before and got a stupid price from somebody different but he advised me to cancel and sign up again as thats the cheapest way your gonna get one apparently unless you wait till July time when he expects them to come down in price...

Does my head in... i've asked for my PAC number now.

I think i may just keep calling them and asking different people for quotes, maybe i'll get it down to £100 before the days out

My post from the other N80 thread:

Just tried to upgrade on Vodafone myself and I was told that it would cost £220 for the handset! The girl on the phone told me they work out the handset price by how much you've spent on bills over the past three months (I spend about £30 a month)? This makes no sense to me since I actually wanted to go onto an 18 month contract that would cost more per month than the one I have now and she said it still wouldn't make a difference to the upgrade price!

I told her that I'll just cancel my contract then and sign up as a new customer since it'll no doubt be A LOT cheaper to do it that way.

When I first rang up vodafone about a month ago they told me £250 for upgrade, I told them that I would not be interested at that price and then asked for my pac code and told the chap on the phone I would be going to orange he then said hold on a minute and then came back to say "how about the phone on upgrade for £50. He then phoned me this morning to let me know they were in stock and to finalise the deal, but said it was an 18 mnth contract and said they couldn't do it on a 12 month, so I said that orange had it on there website for 49.99 on a 12 month contract, he then went and spoke to his boss and came back saying they could match it on an upgrade.
and my average bill is around £40 so im not even a high spender!

Anyway it seems that if you threaten them using the word "orange" then they will easily move on prices!!

Regards.

I have just been on orange web site, take out an 12 month contract 200 mins + 100 texts, £25 per month, the N80 is £49.99, make it 18 month contract you get 300 mins and 100 texts still £25 per month and the phone is still £49.99

It seems the future is bright

Indeed it is, I've just taken out a new contract online, 200 mins, 500 texts, 10MB of data and Orange Care on 12 month contract for £43. N80 £49.99. I've knocked my tariff down to the basic £19 one for the last two months of me contract and will flog my current 6680. So much easier than p1ssing about waiting for upgrade stock to be available.

Delivery on Wednesday. Plenty of stock according to bloke on the phone.

I'd go with Orange, but their new tariffs just don't seem that great. Also, Stop The Clock has me pretty interested in taking out an 18 month contract on Vodafone since it should mean saving big time on my inclusive minutes.

Vodafone's student deal also seems a lot better than Orange's at the moment!

Spoke to Voda last night and agreed on the following contract:

Anytine 350 mins & 500 texts @ £40 per month + stop the clock, 30 days free Sky sports package
N80 handset price = £120

I then saw this thread that somebody got an upgrade for £49.99 so I called them back last night to complain, they said to wait until the phone arrived today and then ring Voda's 14 day returns team and to complain to them.

I have just done this and they couldn't refund the £120 handset price as this had been invoiced on their systems but the girl I spoke to has given me 2 months free line rental, which at £40 + VAT is £94. Resulting in me paying £26 for the phone

It is silly that you have to go about it this way, they should just look after loyal customers a bit better!

So all those that want to stay with Voda, order yours at £150 for the handset and then call back the day you receive it and speak to the 14 returns team who if you sound cheesed off enough will credit you back in some way!

All the best

TCD

I just got the phone offered for free on a new 18mth contract at £35 pcm, not sure if it was a bluff, but from I'm seeing here it seems a very good deal, what do people think? Looks like I'll go back for it and post details later.

Just a heads up, it looks like Vodafone are in the process of adding the N80 to their online store for anyone looking for a new phone/contract! The N80 shows up under the Nokia section, but when you click on it you get told there's no current tariffs for it, hopefully that means it'll be up tonight/tomorrow :D

I posted this on another thread:

Whats the average monthly bill for you guys that have got these great deals from vodafone?

My average monthly bill is around £50 - £60 and i'm on Anytime 275+VP and i pay an additional £3 for 50 texts but the best price vodafone will give me when i call them (191 then 1, then 3) is £200 on a 12 month contract or £150 on a 18 month contract, and that is on my current tarriff - they say they can't offer me anything more because the handset is so expensive. And i've been out of contract since October 2005.

I've been with vodafone for 11 years and i'm getting seriously pi@@@d off now especially after reading about you guys getting these fabulous deals from vodafone

So, i'm either speaking to different people than you guys or it must depend on what the average monthly bill is...

I just gave Vodafone my 1 month notice :D but they were offering me the N80 for £200, £150, and £120 (3 different people) and I have only been paying £16 a month for the least 18 months, still not that good, so just cancelled and will get the Orange £49 handset deal.

Posted from other thread from me.

I'm on Vodafone and phoned them to ask about upgrade from my K750. His quote was 250-300. I told him about this Orange contract and he couldn't match it so I asked for my pac number. He then put me through to cancellations.
The lady was very helpful and tried her best to give me a deal. She offered me my current contract which is 125 anytime mins and 250 texts with Stop The Clock for £25 a month. I previously paid £20 but didn't have Stop The Clock. She had pinpointed that I was going over on minutes and data and that this would help me out.
I then asked how much the handset would be and she quoted me £75. Not the best deal at the mo and nowhere near as good as the Orange deals but I want the Vodafone 3g services more, so decided to go for it.
I think they expect them in next Monday.

To carry on with your question my kast bill was £45 and thats been the highest for a while. Normally £28ish.

Vodafone rang me this morning to see if i wanted the phone for £200, i said no, orange are doing a better deal. I was the asked what i wanted and told her 200 x net 250 texts which is the same tariff as i am on now, she asked what i was prepared to pay for handset I told her £75 at the most. She went to another department and then i was passed to him> The best he could do was £100 for handset, same talk and text 18 month contract and he would add stop the clock. I then agreed with this, he then put me on hold to speak with another manager, after a while the call was diverted back to the call centre. After 3 atempts to speak to this man without success the upgrade department gave this offer Handset £100 same tariff no stop the clock and 12 month contract, the phone comes tuesday, i have 14 days to change my mind, maybe then i will speak with returns and try to push a better deal

Hi Rizza

Yes the phone arrived this morning, before 10am just like vodafone said. I rang them straight away and asked to add stop the clock. I was told this is not possible as my tariff was promo deal and i would lose 250 texts if they changed my tariff. I told them i would like to return the phone as it just arrived and you have 14 days to return and cancel your contract. I was transfered to the returns team, they said i could add stop the clock and remain on the tariff if i was prepared to accept an 18 month contract, as i have been given different prices by each advisor i have spoken to i decided to accept

N80 £100
200 mins x net
250 texts
stop the clock
18 month contract

not the best deal in the world but i was so sick of customer services telling different stories, I just took it

Hi all,

When i called vodafone last week wednesday they offered me the phone for £185 on upgrade, so i told them orange and O2 are offering better deals.
They rang me 2 days later and asked if i was still interested. i played hardball and so they gave me the following:
N80 - £55 incl day next delivery(which was a saturday)
12month contract
125 mins
100 txt free
£25 a month

what a phone!!!
